This is an 'open well' free-swinger from Lenzkirch dating from approx 1880. The quality of this clock is just astonishing. The wood is finely aged mahogany with a deep red patina and the cabinet work is meticulous. There are sixteen brass ornaments on the clock, and the pendulum (featuring the god mercury) is an art-work
in itself. The movement has a serial no, but no Lenzkirch logo which is not unusual. The style and quality of the clock assures it's Lenzkirch pedigree.
This stunning clock has an eight days movement, and chimes on the hour and half hour on a melodious gong. It is in fine working condition. This clock is being sold as found, with no polishing of the exquisite metal ornaments and in totally original condition. The buyer might wish to undertake this themselves if so desired. Height is 1 meter.
